Ya’ll.  Spencer & Nicole’s wedding was one for the books.  These two met years ago at Bible college, and I was just. so. thrilled. when they invited me to capture their wedding day.  Here’s a little peek into the memories and moments of their special day!

Photographing details is one my favorite parts of wedding days.  While I believe in styling boards, being able to use unique elements or pieces from your chosen venue is definitely my preference.  This barrel was just such an element, and after moving it to better light, it did a handsome job of holding Nicole’s details, and served to better tell the stylistic story of her day – an elegant but casual and inviting affair.  I will forever sing the praises of Perla Flor Designs, and this is just another reason why.  Not only does she (Roxanne) create stunning works of floral art, she does it with heart.  Every bride receives a custom note with the meanings of each flower and piece of greenery represented in her bouquet.  Pretty fantastic if you ask me.

Cue the tears.  Such a sweet moment with her dad.

Nicole exudes a classic elegance which came through so beautifully in the styling of her day.  I was more than a little obsessed with her dress.  While I adore bohemian-style wedding gowns with #allthelace, her dress stood apart from the crowd in all the right ways.  It fit her perfectly, and with it’s clean lines and modern-meets-romantic feel, it was the perfect choice for her against the casual setting of The Barn on Chapel Road.

Pausing from regularly scheduled blogpost content to straight up rave about THIS. CUTE. CAR.  It’s a British-made car aptly named ‘Midget’ and belongs to the groom.  Spencer and Nicole have taken it on dates, and it was just too fitting not to use it as their getaway for their wedding day.  Spencer had it brought to Ohio, all the way from the state up north (that would be Michigan for all of you not from Buckeye country ;).  Naturally, we also took the opportunity to use it for some of their portraits as well, because how could we not?!

Spencer & Nicole’s October wedding could have passed for an early spring celebration thanks to Ohio’s always unpredictable climate.  Fall came late, and with tons of rain to keep Ohio’s grass green, it was the perfect backdrop for their chosen color palette of gray, soft mauve, and muted blush tones.

She surprised him with a watch.

It rained but these two didn’t let it steal the joy of their day for a second.

There was no sunset, but we snuck outside for a few minutes during the reception anyway to grab a few more shots with Nicole’s veil on and I’m so glad we did!
